Opis:
Kasnejši osebni računalniki, pogosto imenovani "PC kloni," so prevzeli enako arhitekturo, obliko in komponente. Ta izid je prišel v obdobju pomembnih inovacij v računalništvu, prehoda od velikih, dragih glavnih računalnikov in miniračunalnikov k bolj dostopnim in cenovno ugodnim osebnim računalnikom. Konec 70. let prejšnjega stoletja so se pojavili prvi osebni računalniki, kot so Altair 8800, Apple II, Commodore PET in TRS-80. Ti zgodnji modeli so bili večinoma uporabljeni s strani hobi navdušencev ter so začeli prodirati v mala podjetja in izobraževalne ustanove, vendar še niso dosegli splošnega sprejetja. IBM PC je razširil doseg računalništva in ga naredil bolj dostopnega širšemu občinstvu, ne le hobi navdušencem in podjetjem. Igral je ključno vlogo pri demokratizaciji tehnologije. IBM 5150 je imel robustno in praktično oblikovano ohišje. [ENG]: The IBM Personal Computer, commonly known as the IBM PC or IBM 5150, was introduced on August 12, 1981. This powerful desktop computer was the first in IBM's line of personal computers, setting the stage for what we now call PCs. Later personal computers, often referred to as "PC clones," adopted the same architecture, design, and components. Over time, the term "PC" entered common usage, becoming synonymous with home computing. Although not the first home desktop computer, the IBM PC is considered a milestone in computer history and is often dubbed "the first PC." When the IBM PC was launched, it met the growing demand for personal computing in both consumer and business markets. This release came during a period of significant innovation in computing, transitioning from large, expensive mainframes and minicomputers to more affordable and accessible personal computers. The late 1970s had seen the introduction of early personal computers like the Altair 8800, Apple II, Commodore PET, and TRS-80. These early models were mainly used by hobbyists and enthusiasts and began to make their way into small businesses and educational institutions but had not yet achieved mainstream acceptance. The IBM PC broadened the reach of computing, making it more accessible to a wider audience beyond hobbyists and businesses. It played a crucial role in the democratization of technology. The IBM 5150 featured a robust and practical case design. Its sturdy metal case, typical of the era, had a beige color, giving it a professional and clean appearance. The motherboard was positioned horizontally inside the case, allowing easy access to components and expansion slots. The main unit was placed on a sturdy surface, such as a desk, with the monitor positioned on top of or beside the main unit.
