Opis:
Glavni izdelki podjetja NeXT so vključevali NeXT Computer, NeXTcube in NeXTstation. [ENG]: The NeXTstation, a high-end computer manufactured by NeXT from 1990 to 1993, is renowned for being the platform on which the video game Doom was developed. NeXT, Inc., founded by Steve Jobs after his temporary departure from Apple, played a significant role in personal computer history despite its short lifespan. NeXT machines, similar to Apple's in many respects, stood out with their distinctive design, innovative features, and their own operating system, NeXTSTEP, which hosted the development and operation of the first web browser. NeXT's major products included the NeXT Computer, NeXTcube, and NeXTstation. These machines are rare today, with only about 50,000 units sold. Each is considered unique and historically significant. The NeXTcube served as the first web server, and both the game Quake and the early technology for the first online food delivery service, CyberSlice, were developed on NeXTcube and NeXTstation systems. Notably, Steve Jobs made the first online pizza order through CyberSlice, and NeXT also pioneered the concept of the App Store. While the NeXTcube featured an unconventional cube shape, the NeXTstation had a thin case reminiscent of a pizza box, earning it the unofficial nickname "pizza box." The NeXTstation Turbo N1100 was equipped with a 33 MHz Motorola 68040 CPU, 16 MB RAM, a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive with a capacity of 2.88 MB, a hard disk ranging from 105 MB to 4 GB, and a display resolution of 1120 × 832 pixels. It originally shipped with a 17-inch monitor (with built-in speakers), a keyboard, and a distinctive rectangular mouse. For a similar price, it offered impressive specifications compared to Apple's Mac IIsi, which featured a 12-inch black-and-white screen. Like Apple machines, NeXT systems were often used in print design. Our NeXT systems were donated by Delo, the Slovenian national daily newspaper publisher.
